Terms & Conditions for Room Hire
This agreement is for all Room Hire bookings with Michelle’s Piano Studio (“MPS”) and may be subject to change at our discretion.
Hirer’s Obligation
The Hirer must, at all times during the period of hire, conduct themselves in a manner that promotes and protects the image, reputation, and goodwill of MPS. In particular, the Hirer must:
be courteous and attentive to participants of their own activities and other users of the building
co-operate with MPS staff on premises
act honestly and always in the best interests of MPS
promptly follow all lawful and proper directions in respect to use of the premises; and
carry out all duties carefully, responsibly, and competently.
The Hirer, at the end of the booking, must:
Leave the room in a clean and tidy state as it was when they arrive.
Wipe down the piano keys and any equipment used with disinfectant wipes provided.
Wind the windows shut and draw all curtains closed.
Switch off all lights, air-conditioning, fans and electrical equipment used in the rooms (such as the digital piano) from the power point.
Lock the door on leaving and store the key in the key safe.
General
MPS must be informed of the purpose for which any hired room is to be used, and the number of guests (people other than the Hirer, including any children) expected on the premises.
Security cameras are used on premises. In signing this agreement, the Hirer and guests consent to be filmed for security purposes.
The Hirer and guests may use only the room allocated on booking. Access of any other hire room without written permission from MPS Management will be considered unlawful entry (bathroom and kitchen facilities excepted).
Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by the Hirer at all times.
Strictly no smoking/vaping, drugs, or alcohol permitted on the premises.
MPS reserves the right to decline applications at Management’s discretion.
Room Hire applications will only be accepted in agreement with these Terms & Conditions.
Application for Room Hire
Applications can be made via the website https://michellespianostudio.com.au/room-hire. Select “Apply for Room Hire”, then complete and submit the form for review.
The Hirer may be required to provide the following documents on application:
Public Liability Insurance of $10M (upon booking)
Police Check (if applicable)
Working With Children Check (if applicable)
Requests for additional tables, chairs or equipment should be included on application.
Bookings and Cancellations
The Hirer may cancel a booking by giving MPS written notice to that effect.
All cancellations must be submitted by email. Strictly 3 business days’ written notice is required for cancellation of bookings.
Failure of the Hirer to notify MPS Management, in writing, of any change or cancellation of the booking within 3 business days of the booking will result in the full amount payable.
Payment
Room Hire booking fees must be paid on receipt.
Non-payment of fees within the given time frame will result in cancellation of the booking.
Access
Use of and access to MPS is strictly limited to the times specified upon booking.
Booking time includes set-up and packing away time. Rooms must be vacated punctually.
The key safe code must not be shared with others and must remain locked at all times.
Care of Equipment & Furniture
Equipment and furniture belonging to MPS must only be used with prior arrangement as specified on application. Loss or damage of equipment may incur a charge at full repair/replacement cost at Management’s discretion.
Tables, chairs and other furniture must be returned to their original positions after use.
No alterations to the building or furniture without written permission from MPS Management.
Any damages to the building, furniture or displays accessed during your booking, as well as any pre-existing damage, should be documented in detail through writing and photographs.
The Hirer is accountable for any damage to the building or equipment as a result of misuse by the Hirer and guests.
Cleaning and Tidiness
Please advise on application if you require basic cleaning equipment.
Hard surfaces must be wiped down if dirty.
Bathroom and kitchen facilities must be left in a clean and tidy condition.
Rubbish bins must be emptied at the conclusion of your booking and bin bags taken to the garbage room for disposal. The garbage room is accessible via Fletcher St.
Failure to clean hired rooms and facilities after use may incur additional fees.
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Insurance
MPS takes its obligations in respect to Occupational Health and Safety (“OH&S”) seriously. MPS intends to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all customers at all times.
If the Hirer becomes aware of any circumstance, hazard or conduct by any person that could give rise to a risk of injury or illness to any person, the Hirer must raise the issue with MPS Management.
The Hirer may be required to provide documentation of professional indemnity/public liability insurance on application. MPS is not responsible for injury caused by negligence of the Hirer.
MPS is to be kept in a safe and clean condition at all times.
Termination of services by MPS
MPS may terminate the Hirer’s term summarily and without notice if the Hirer engages in serious or wilful misconduct.
The Hirer is subject to disciplinary and grievance procedures as set out in MPS Studio Policy.
